Current Programs at 3rd Space
3rd Space Martial Arts Club is a cooperative of different programs and instructors that come together and share the facility. This cooperative style means that 3rd Space offers one of the greatest varieties of programs and arts available just about anywhere.
The list of our programs is not fixed and may change occasionally as programs and instructors join the club. Here is a list of our current programs in residence at 3rd Space:
Japanese Based Traditional Martial Arts Offered by
Five Circles Martial Arts.
The Gomaru Ryu Budo are a family of living martial arts based in Japanese sources and traditions. The Budo are made of five separate arts, Kenpo (striking), Aikijujutsu (grappling), Kobujutsu (general weapons use), Kenjutsu (swordsmanship and fencing), and Gojukido (internal conditioning).
Students in the Budo program start by studying a universal background of the arts and then customize and focus their study to follow their interests.
Japanese Based Youth Martial Arts Offered by
Five Circles Martial Arts.
Through the study of martial arts our youth gain confidence, discipline, and skill. But we also want them to have fun!
Kimaru Ryu Karate is a mixed art curriculum that teaches a comprehensive set of martial arts skills including striking, grappling, and weapon use. This curriculum draws on all of the arts of the Gomaru Ryu Budo program to give our Young Samurai a complete set of basic martial arts skills.
Bolognese Fencing (Young Adult, Adult)
Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) Offered by the
Tulsa School of Arms.
Bolognese swordsmanship is a tradition within the Italian school of swordsmanship based on fencing treatises published by several 16th century fencing masters of Bologna. The Tulsa School of Arms begins instruction in the techniques of side-sword but includes material in a wide variety of weapons and tools including longsword, polearms, and bucklers.
Light Saber Martial Arts from a Far Away Galaxy Offered by
The Saber Academy.
Beyond the reaches of our galaxy, there lies an ancient martial arts tradition using LED light sabers. Fencing using these elegant weapons from a more civilized time is now a fast-growing modern sport that has been recognized by international fencing organizations. The Saber Academy trains students to fight with these LED sabers and encourages students to explore their love of the fandom in all other forms as well.
The Sciences of Silat (Young Adult, Adult)
Traditional Martial Arts of Southeast Asia Offered by
Tulsa Silat.
Silat is the collective term for a class of martial arts from the Nusantara and surrounding geocultural areas of Southeast Asia. It is traditionally practiced in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Southern Thailand, Southern Philippines and Southern Vietnam. There are hundreds of different styles (aliran) and schools (perguruan) which tend to focus either on strikes, joint manipulation, weaponry, or some combination thereof. Tulsa Silat guides students on the journey through many of these forms and skills providing a well rounded and highly effective martial arts skillset.
Ninpo Taijutsu [Ninja Arts] (Young Adult, Adult)

Bujinkan Techijin Tulsa Dojo.
In and amongst the samurai warriors of feudal Japan operated a special subset of soldiers that specialized in infiltration, spying, and assassination. Shrouded in mystery and conflicting historical accounts, the shinobi (or ninja) are legendary.
This combat system teaches nine separate ryuha, or schools, which are collectively referred to as Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. The Bujinkan Techijin Tulsa Dojo brings these traditions to our students here in Tulsa.

Our dedicated team of instructors brings a wealth of experience and passion to every class. We are committed to guiding students on their martial arts journey, ensuring a supportive and enriching environment, and sharing the joy of the arts with our students.

Brannon Bain
Gomaru Ryu Budo
Mr. Bain has been studying martial arts since 1976. He holds various degrees and licenses and is the founder and creator of the the Gomaru Ryu Budo curriculum.

Jay Rhea
Light Saber Martial Arts
Mr. Rhea has studied martial arts and choreography for many years. He uses knowledge, his fandom, and his passion for teaching to make studying the light saber fun, interesting, and challenging.

Geoffrey Beeson
Young Samurai
Mr. Beeson has studied marital arts since 1991 and Gomaru Ryu Budo since 1999. He created the Kimaru Ryu curriculum in 2018 to share the Budo with younger students.

Brad Burosh
The Science of Silat
Mr. Burosh is an experienced teacher of the defensive arts and human science modalities. He aims to empower others while contributing towards bringing the beauty and culture of Silat to the world.

Rex Ashcraft
Bolognese Fencing (HEMA)
Mr. Ashcraft has a background kenpo karate, law enforcement defensive tactics, BJJ, and wrestling. He began studying HEMA In 2016 and has a current focus on Bolognese fencing.

Julius McGee
Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu
Mr. McGee has been teaching Bujinkan Taijutsu for over 30 years in the Tulsa area. He is a licensed 4th Dan under the direct instruction of Dai Shihan Aric Keith based out of Seattle Washington.
